Ateneo Chamber Singers

A fundraising concert by the Ateneo Chamber Singers to benefit St. John the Baptist Church, Carmelite Monastery in Angeles City Pampanga, Philippines and Ateneo College Scholarship Foundation.

Ateneo Chamber Singers will have a concert on Friday, October 10, 2008 at 7pm in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at 11150 San Pablo Avenue, El Cerrito CA.
This will benefit multiple beneficiaries, St. John the Baptist Church for their multimedia project, Carmelite
Monastery in Angeles City, Pampanga Philippines for the ongoing full renovation of the building and the
Ateneo College Scholarship Foundation.
ACS is a group of alumni and graduating members of the Ateneo College Glee Club. Formed in 2002 under the
leadership of their conductor, Mr. Jonathan Velasco, the group started sweeping top prizes in major choral
competitions and singing to enraptured judges and audiences in Germany, Italy, Ireland and Spain. Having
established themselves as a formidable presence in the Philippines musical landscape, the ACS recently made their mark abroad with Awit: the First ACS European Tour, representing the Philippines in two important choral events: the Polyfollia in France and the 38th Tolosa Choral Contest in Spain where they emerged first.
This event is produced by Korusleine Productions under the management of JM Mercado as owner/producer and music director of Korusleine Vocal Ensemble, the group that emerged in 2004 and garnered several recognition awards in the Bay Area. When group members decided to pursue their respective professional careers for the meantime, Korusleine Productions was given the opportunity to focus more in producing events such as ACS concert benefiting the communities and organizations whom they choose to help or those individuals and organizations who approach them for help in raising funds for a worthy cause.
